Looking for a new and neutral viewpoint to file them away with, Coyote also "grades" his parents. He claims it might make it easier to file them away easier. Coyote explains that to give your parents a fair grade, they must be graded by their own expectations, not ours. After talking about his parents and laughing away his memories, Coyote seems excited for next week's actZEN.com lesson in which he gets to become the parents.

Move on!" says our protesting hippie. "Get out of the bush and walk on the sidewalk!" Coyote talks to his son about Baptism. "Baptism is where certain religions believe you can wash away the sins of your parents or forefathers... so Baptism is a way of supposedly cleaning your soul of the sins you were born with. I told him I didn't agree with that," tells Coyote. Then he denounces football claiming, "There's way too much violence in football. Sat, 6 October 2007 ![]() PODCAST 35 of the Episode 15 of American Zen's Coyote talks about his newfound freedoms have led him to perceive several cages he is living in. "You go to pat yourself on the back and realize you're wearing another collor," sighs Coyote. Coyote shares his NEW MEANING OF ENLIGHTENMENT. After studying one of his Chan Buddhism books, Coyote comes up with an image of a monk in a doorway who enlightens the household like the morning sunrise light beams that shine in through the window to illuminate the dust in the air. "Look for that monk. Enlightenment: the monk in the doorway is like the sunrise light in the window." "Fixing means you're unhappy with it the way it is. Improving means you're happy with it but you want to make it better. I want a life of improvement. I'm just making things better that are already good," laughs Coyote. " Coyote talks himself into accepting his reality and decorating his cages. "Jimi Hendrix was complaining...about his wearing feathers..." Coyote compares Jimi to a peacock that we should appreciate rather than ridicule. Risking more disdain, The Hippy Coyote continues his blasphemy as he claims that Christ wouldn't raise people from the dead. "For everything that religion is doing to improve people's lifes -- I applaud you," announces Coyote. Coyote says he's not explaining the Christ Killer theme any more. Coyote confesses that his Kung Fu Master, Wong Jack Man of San Francisco, was the man who beat up Bruce Lee in the sixties -- which resulted in Bruce Lee creating a new martial arts style, Jeet Kune Do. Coyote criticizes Bruce Lee and talks excitedly about learning TanTui 9, which Bruce's father taught him as a youth ("Tom Toys" as Bruce Lee referred to them in his autobiography.). Coyote doesn't allow headaches... Coyote also says, "SEND ME YOUR SURFING VIDEOS for our next music video." Sun, 26 August 2007 PODCAST #9 for the Level 2 = Christ Killer CLASSIC ROCK ALBUM by American Zen, featuring The Hippy Coyote on flute and acoustic guitar.
Continuing at actZEN.com, Coyote picks up from last weeks' "The Mature You Planned" website page. Starting this podcast, Coyote jumps up from his microphone and grabs his Shaolin Chi Mantis Kung Fu school notebook.
"Love and contentment are the feelings
of a path in harmony,"
writes Master Zhen in the TAI CHI BEGINNER book.
Coyote decides that living by your feelings is the same as being a thermometer as you react to reality.
Coyote explains that the "US versus THEM" reality of the sixties was well founded in that generations' lack of spirituality.
Featured songs:
"American Zen Level 2" poem, by Coyote was chosen for this podcast because the lyrics aptly fit this week's Buddhist realization that we are all bees in a beehive...like the Mormons...who use the beehive as the state's logo, emblem, flag, police cars... however, the bee is the not the state bird of Utah. Ironically, it is the California Seagull that is the state bird of Utah. They decided to keep the gulls and send Coyote back to the poppy state. Appropriately, California chose an hallucinogenic flower for our emblem. Could this be a rap song? Coyote says that the closest he will get to rap is attempting to emulate the "beat poets" or beatniks of the sixties.
"Land Of Mediocrity" ends this podcast with its' portrayal of Utah Mormon life. Coyote shows compassion and understanding in his 2nd level of Buddhist songwriting. This recording was kept simple using the original 4-track master and the addition of a tambourine. Sounding like Arlo Guthrie or a romantic Bob Dylan, Coyote's acoustic guitar presents a new protest song about religion in a similar way that The Beatles conveyed their disappointment in British Christianity with their song, "Eleanor Rigby."
Background songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records. Coyote's flute playing was originally inspired by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull.
"Christ Killer," with Coyote's wild solos and scary monks chanting. With only an elk hide drum and an electric guitar, the Zen boys call themselves The NEPHILIM CHOIR with their manly low vocal harmonies.
"Peace Of Mind #1," was supposed to be the first song of the first album by American Zen. Here it is with the love of a Paul McCartney song and the witty lyrical satire of Bob Dylan.
"I Want To Laugh #2," was originally a song with words, that became a duet between slide guitar and flute, that became a solo slide instrumental song, that became what it is as Coyote stood in a bank line and heard this simple lyric while imagining a flootball team struggling to regain control of their game.
Podcast #9 of American Zen's LEVEL 2 of Zen Buddhism.
Episode 29 of the AMERICAN ZEN BUDDHIST ROCK PODCAST series detailing the spiritual, intellectual, artistic, and poetic development of America's First Buddhist Rock Band, American Zen featuring the songs, artwork, and writings of The happy hippie Hippy Coyote.

Fri, 17 August 2007 PODCAST #8 for the Level 2 = Christ Killer CLASSIC ROCK ALBUM by American Zen, featuring The Hippy Coyote on flute and acoustic guitar.
Continuing at actZEN.com, Coyote picks up from last weeks' "Wanting To Be An Older Person." Starting this podcast at "Wanting To Be," Coyote discusses how life is a collection of paths that creat YOUR PATH. The webpages of actZEN.com were written by Master Zhen Shen-Lang of the Shaolin Zen Buddhist CyberTemple at shaolinZEN.org Coyote becomes concerned that his mental vision of his own path might have been a scene from THE WIZARD OF OZ. "To Be A Person," is a mixture of both activities and identities. Advising that people choose their jobs and life to create a BALANCE in your life.
Then Coyote accidentally skipped p8 of Section 3. So, prematurely, Coyote enters the MATURE section of the actZEN.com website. This skipped page of a BALANCED LIFE will hopefully be addressed next week.
"Be A Parent To Yourself," discusses how each of us formulate a parent within us that is primarily based upon our original parents. "You Are The Mature You Planned by Them," includes a statement that 'most people are crappy parents." Baking the NEW YOU requires removing all negative ingredients. More warnings to separate your emotions from your memories.
"You Are The Matured Planned by Them," requires writing sentences formulated from the best qualities of your parents. Do not identify yourself by your job. Maturity means you are capable of any job...
"The Mature You Planned," explains that you must align your job and career and other parts or your daily life as if all these ingredients are the meal YOU ARE COOKING.
Created for some of Master Zhen's Tai Chi and Kung Fu students who are actors, Coyote embellishes and interprets the writings on each of the actZEN.com webpages.
Featured songs:
"I Want To Laugh #2" from the American Zen LEVEL 2 = Christ Killer cd.
Background songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records. Coyote's flute playing was originally inspired by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull.

So think about WHO you want to be and join us next friday to discover HOW to be WHO you WILL BE.
Created for some of Master Zhen's Tai Chi and Kung Fu students who are actors, Coyote embellishes and interprets the writings on each of the actZEN.com webpages.
Featured songs:

Background songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records. Coyote's flute playing was originally inspired by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull.

Fri, 3 August 2007 PODCAST #6 for the Level 2 = Christ Killer by American Zen cd of stories, poetry, and photography by The Hippy Coyote who lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, plays flute like Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, looks like Richard Gere with a ponytail, writes poetry, works as a photographer, and falls in love with Utah girls. Uh-oh.
Continuing at actZEN.com, Coyote reads "Without Knowing," "Teen Zen is Half-Baked Cupcake Zen," and "Poison of Resentment," where he leaves himself and his audience to ponder any lingering resentments, hatreds, or negative feelings that might exist in our minds. "You have better things to think about and remember," reads Coyote. "Every second you spend hating or resenting someone is like sipping poison." Written by Master Zhen, founder of the shaolinZEN.org CyberTemple, Coyote reads that we should all forgive our parents, "You sip enough hatred and it will kill you." Perhaps cancer is the fruit of resentment.
Coyote proudly reads an iTunes review stating that the CHRIST KILLER album is a classic that compares to The Beatles, Beachboys, and Bruce Springsteen.
Featured songs:
"Great Salt Lake," the flute INTRO song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records.
"God Will Protect" concludes this Coyote Radio Show after a hasty introduction in which THCoyote explains that this song broke up the last band he tried to create in Utah.

"You've Been Sold" from the CD, LEVEL 1 = Peace Of Mind (awesome SLIDE GUITAR by Rory G on his Pleasant Guitar from his dad). Sounds like Mick Abrahams and Blodwyn Pig.
"I Want To Laugh #2" from the LEVEL 2 = Christ Killer cd (the Utah 4-track mix featuring Rory G on SLIDE GUITAR again). Rory should get an award for his slide guitar work on this song. Rory thanks both Johnny Winter and Rory Gallagher for influences.
"Free The Change" from the cd, LEVEL 1 = Peace Of Mind (features Rory burning on LEAD GUITAR solos). Sounds like Cream or Mountain. Remember that song, "Nantucket Sleighride" by Felix Pappalardi?
It appears this episode FEATURES RORY G on electric lead guitar, and slide guitar. Rory says he's retiring from live stage performing. Fortunately, Rory loves to record.
Special thanks to all the magazines and album reviewers who contributed or wrote these reviews in their magazines or website magazines. Visit the web pages of this podcast for links to the various magazines and reviewers.

PODCAST #9 for the Level 2 = Christ Killer CLASSIC ROCK ALBUM by American Zen, featuring The Hippy Coyote on flute and acoustic guitar.

PODCAST #4 for CD: Level 2 = Christ Killer by American Zen. The Coyote, of American Zen, continues on several pages of the actZEN.com website. Coyote talks about his mom and his dad. He points out his similarities and differences as he strives to discover how he is a product of his parents and how individual he is or isn't. Our flute playing hippie mentions being born from "a divine...virgin mother..." Coyote finally advises, "Be like your parents only how you want to be like your parents."
Featured songs:
"Peace Of Mind #1" Combines the poetic cleverness of Bob Dylan with the romantic feeling of a Paul McCartney song.
"Christ Killer" from the Christ Killer cd fades out for the ending of this podcast.
"Great Salt Lake," the flute intro song, is from the cd, Level 2 = Christ Killer, recently released by Shaolin Records.

PODCAST #18 of 20 podcasts for CD: Level 1 = Peace Of Mind by American Zen.
